A classic example of Southwestern artistry, this “Fred Harvey Era” brooch features a central bezel-set turquoise cabochon flanked by two hand-stamped thunderbirds. The elongated bar shape is further accented by traditional crossed arrow and sunburst motifs, symbolizing protection and movement.
Crafted between the 1930s and 1950s, pieces like this were popularized by the Fred Harvey Company to appeal to travelers on the Santa Fe Railway. The sterling silver has developed a beautiful, deep patina that highlights the intricate stamp work and the natural green-blue hues of the turquoise stone.
