Lot of 7 early Southwestern Native American postcards, circa 1906 to 1907. Divided and undivided backs, but in either case a space on front of the card is provided for writing.
Hand written messages seem to reflect prejudices of the time.
5 cards are Fred Harvey, 2 are Tuck / Oilette.
Navajo, Walapai, Pueblo, and Chemeheuvi are represented, as is the Alvarado in Albuquerque, NM.
Of particular interest is a colorized photograph with the caption: “Elle of Canado, maker of the President’s blanket; acknowledged the best weaver among the Navajos.”
