Vintage Harvey Era Navajo Native American Sterling Silver Turquoise Bracelet

Vintage Fred Harvey era Navajo sterling silver cuff (c. 1930s–1950s) featuring a raised, applied Thunderbird plaque soldered to a hand-stamped band. An oval turquoise cabochon sits in a smooth bezel at the center, flanking stamped arrow/fan motifs and scalloped edges complete the classic railroad trading-post look. Deep, natural patina highlights the hand work.

Unmarked (typical for the period), tests as sterling.

Total weight: 28 grams.

Inner circumference of bracelet:  5.5″.  Gap opening: 1.25″. Fully inner circumference of bracelet gap size included:  6.75″. Slightly adjustable gap.

The width of the bracelet measures approx. 1″.

The stone measures approx.  0.5″ by 0.25″.

How to Make Sure Your Bracelet Will Fit

The best way to get a good fit is to measure a cuff bracelet you already have that fits you well and look for a bracelet with those dimensions.

If you don’t have a cuff bracelet to use for comparison, then measure your wrist where you want to wear the bracelet.

Use a half inch wide strip of paper and wrap it around your wrist. Be sure that it completes its circumference over your wrist bone and is in comfortable contact with your skin the whole way around. Mark the paper where it begins to overlap with the start, lay it out flat, and measure from the start to the mark. This is your proper wrist circumference.

Buy your cuff bracelet in a size that is close to your wrist size so that the adjustment you need to make is small.
