Item Description from Seller
From a Tanque Verde Valley estate in Tucson is this I believe 1940’s or perhaps 1950’s (just to be safe) Navajo Turquoise and silver pin. The traditionally crafted ornament is of so called Fred Harvey style, assuming the form of a stylized pomagranite flower (a Spanish colonial motif) or squash blossom. There is a nice local lapidary turquoise cabochon set to the top, with old style prepared stamp work tying everything together nicely. Weight is good for the form at about 12.9 grams on my portable digital scale. Condition is quite fine with an aura of time to the surfaces. Be aware I have avoided every urge to refresh away or “improve” upon any natural toning – you want that done you do it. The turquoise stone is well preserved and the pin and clasp still work exactly as they should. All normal and expected signs of previous wearing simply validates the history. I’m nitpicking for the obsessive and a look at the pics should give a good idea of appearance and condition. Sise is about 1 13/16 in. vertical and 1 9/16 in. horizontal at the leaf like projections. If you prefer historic Southwestern charm over things more recent, or simply wish a single immediate improvement to the look of a vintage Chimayo jacket, this will have great meaning for you
