Item Description from Seller

Early 1900s Native American Sterling Silver Petrified Wood Cuff Bracelet Fred Harvey Era Hand Stamped & Handmade

This exquisite early 1900s Native American sterling silver cuff bracelet is a stunning example of Fred Harvey-era craftsmanship. Handcrafted with intricate stamp work and detailed repoussé elements, this bracelet features a striking polished petrified wood cabochon, rich in earthy orange and black tones, each swirl telling a story millions of years in the making.

The bracelet has a cuff design with a gap that allows it to be slipped on and gently adjusted. It weighs a solid 27.44 grams, giving it a substantial yet comfortable feel on the wrist. The hand-stamped designs and scalloped edges reflect traditional motifs from the Fred Harvey tourist era, when Native American silversmiths crafted pieces for travelers exploring the American Southwest.

During the Fred Harvey era (circa 1900–1950s), Native American artisans crafted jewelry that blended traditional techniques with tourist appeal. One of the most recognizable traits of this period was the use of hand-stamped silver, featuring repeating patterns like sunbursts, arrows, zigzags, and radiating lines, as seen on this bracelet. These designs were meant to symbolize elements of nature, strength, and journey, and were often presented to travelers along the expanding rail lines of the American Southwest.

Condition: Very nice pre-owned condition with beautiful patina. No issues noted. Ready to wear or display. See photo’s for most accurate visual description.
