This 3-piece set of Fred Harvey Syracuse China Railroad Dinnerware is in Very Good Condition! No Chips or Cracks! Nice and Clean, from a Smoke-Free Home! The Fred Harvey Logo is on the inside of the Tea Cup. There are Syracuse China stamps on the bottom of the cup and the plates. The Cup was made in December 1958, and the Saucer was made in November 1958. The Tea Cup Measures 2-1/2" high, 5" wide, and 4" in diameter. The Saucer measures 5-1/2" in diameter, and the Dessert Plate measures 6-1/2" in diameter.
In 1876, Fred Harvey, an English immigrant and entrepreneur, opened his first restaurant, a Harvey House, at the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway depot in Topeka, Kansas. This marked the beginning of a revolutionary hospitality chain that set high standards for food quality, service, and cleanliness for travelers, improving the dining experience and earning him the nickname "Father of Western Hospitality".
