Very Unique Antique or Vintage Native American Southwest Navajo Silver HUGE Brooch by Fred Harvey era
It’s about 3.5 inches long
Gemstones: Four round small Baby Blue Turquoise and Large oval Blue Cabochon Turquoise in the middle.
Era: very early ca. 1890’s -1900’s
Design: Thunderbird, deer, Tipi/Wigwam, arrowhead
Metal: This brooch is hand-signed Sterling, it has passed a magnet test, an acid test shows low silver amount about 800 or even less, possible silver plate. The lock works fine.
We are not sure if hand-signed Sterling is original mark or was added later.
One side of the brooch is slightly bent. It can be fixed, however we did not do anything. We left it up to the buyer, because this bend is not noticeable when you attach this brooch to your clothes. Maybe you would like to leave it as-is.
This brooch has visible aging on the metal, original patina, gemstones are fine.
Absolutely beautiful, unique brooch in good antique, vintage condition! Very unusual!
This item was purchased many years ago by original collector in the Native American shop called “B. J’s Silver Eagle”
This store is not exist anymore.
The original collector was purchasing Native American jewelry for more than sixty years.
Now she’s 90 y.o. and she decided to downsize her jewelry collection.
